• Kids Camp is for students entering 3rd grade through finishing 6th grade

• Be on board with the heart of camp and allow your student to GET AWAY and enjoy a week of growing in their faith and making awesome friendships! With this in mind, please note that we require every cabin coach to collect their campers’ phones & electronic devices for the week in order to help them disconnect from the outside world and be fully engaged in what’s happening at camp. All adults on the campground will have their phones for any emergencies and parents are welcome to contact their camper’s cabin coach if they’d like an update on their student. Students will receive their electronic devices back after the final service on Friday.

• MEDICAL EXCEPTIONS: If your student has a medical reason why they need to keep their phone (app for monitoring glucose levels, etc.) they will be allowed to keep it, with the understanding that it is only to be used for medical purposes and they cannot use it to call, text, or check social media.

• Please look at the guidelines and the packing list so you can set your student up for success from day one! Take some time to read through this document with them and answer any questions they have. Make sure to talk to your youth pastor or church leader if you have any questions about topics that we didn’t cover in this packet!

• HOMESICKNESS: To help curb potential homesickness, emphasize the amount of fun your camper will have during the week! We have an amazing staff ready to take care of your camper. Our teams have prepared and prayed for each of them! Please do not indicate to your camper that they can call OR go home. Only in the event of an emergency, will a camper have access to a phone.

Trust your leaders! We want you to have an AMAZING time at camp. We also know how important this week can be for your spiritual formation and don’t want anything to get in the way of that. We aren’t perfect, but we will do our best to make this the BEST week of your summer!

Be the camper that you would want to coach and the cabin mate that you would want to have. Be respectful, buy in, and have fun! Be open to what God wants to do in your life during in the hours we are together at camp. If YOU come expecting God to move and to have a good time, you will have an AWESOME week!

• Connect with your church to obtain a specific LINK to register in your church group.

1. No one is to leave the campgrounds without permission from the KidMin Camp Director.    

2. For safety and security reasons, the campgrounds are closed to ALL visitors. All camp activities including services are open only to registered campers/ camp staff/ AGK credential holders/pastors. If you fall in the approved category, please contact the office to schedule a visit. NOTE: No meals provided for visitors.

3. All cars will be parked on the first day of camp and left until the time of departure on the last day of camp.

4. Everyone will observe the daily schedule. Attendance at all camp activities is required.

5. Everyone must be in bed and quiet at lights out.

6. Everyone will conduct themselves courteously and with respect for others. Physical violence or verbal harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. 

7. Couples and/or mixed groups shall conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to God at all times.

8. Observe habits of personal cleanliness: take a shower every day.

9. Observe habits of group cleanliness: keep your cabin and campground clean.

10. Everyone must dress appropriately at all times. If a participant’s clothing is deemed inappropriate, they will be asked to change.

    • (How do you know if your clothing is "appropriate?" We kindly ask that everyone wears clothes that cover their chest, stomach, and that shorts or dresses are as close to mid-thigh as possible. If you plan to swim at the lake, please bring a one-piece/tankini (girls) and appropriate-length swim trunks (guys.)  Both guys and girls need to wear a cover-up/t-shirt on the way to and from the lake. We also ask that you refrain from wearing any clothing with inappropriate language or material on it. If you have any questions about the dress code, please don't hesitate to ask us! Our heart is to create an environment where everyone feels respected and honored.) 

11. Fireworks, firearms, knives or weapons, alcohol, tobacco products, and drugs are prohibited. Possession of these items will result in immediate dismissal from the camp.

12. Electronic equipment (cell phones, laptops, iPads, gaming systems, etc.) is prohibited.

13. Label all belongings. AGK KidMin is not responsible for lost/stolen items.

The MANDATORY Items:

 Bedding

•    All bunks at camp have twin-sized beds. Sheets and a blanket or a sleeping bag work great! Don’t forget your pillow and whatever you need to help you get comfy at night (sleep mask, ear plugs, your special fuzzy socks, etc.)

Clothes

•    Pack outfits for every day of camp (including clothes for evening services and clothes for recreation during the day), along with a swim suit and clothes to sleep in. Our evening services are casual. Most people will wear jeans and a t-shirt, but you’re welcome to dress up if you want! Please reference the camp guidelines on the previous page to know what kind of clothes are appropriate to bring.

•    We highly suggest flip flops for showering and a pair of tennis shoes for recreation.

Toiletries

•    Shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothpaste/tooth brush, sunscreen, deodorant, anything else to help you smell good.

•    Bring multiple towels (ESPECIALLY if you plan to swim— drying off from a shower with a towel that has pond water on it? Gross!)

Additional Items

•    Refillable water bottle

•    Cash for snack bar/merch/BGMC offering

•    Bible and writing utensil

The “Pro Camper” Items:

•    No phone? You might want to bring a watch, flashlight, and camera!

•    Label EVERYTHING that belongs to you.

•    Your favorite snacks/drinks to keep in the cabin.

•    Rep your color team by bringing clothing or decor items in that color. (You’ll find out your team’s color the week before camp!)

•    Drawstring bag or small backpack to carry your stuff around during the day.

•    Shower caddy to take all your toiletries with you to the bathroom.

Please Don’t Bring: Phones, tablets, electronics, gaming systems, earbuds, fireworks, firearms, knives or weapons, alcohol, tobacco products, vapes, drugs, your pet hermit crab (or any other kind of pet), clothing that goes against the dress code, or a bad attitude!

Medicine Check-In:

Any personal medications (prescription and/or over-the-counter), vitamins, herbs, and enzymes MUST have a doctor’s order and be brought to the camp nurse during registration on Monday afternoon. All meds must be in an original container with a pharmacy label including patient name, physician name, medication name, prescription number, date prescribed, and dosage. The nurse will be available throughout the week to disperse medications as prescribed or needed. Please note that if you list a medication on your child’s camp registration form, you MUST send it with them to camp.

Food Allergies:

Due to the number of people attending camp with food allergies, we are not able to take on the responsibility of making special meals for each of them. If your student has severe food allergies, we HIGHLY recommend you send frozen or refrigerated meals for each day with them to ensure they are getting the nutrients they need. There is a dedicated fridge in the dining hall for these allergy specific meals where students can store them for easy access. Please label all food with your camper’s name. It is their responsibility to know what they can and cannot eat, but we will always do what we can to assist them!

Campers love getting mail! We encourage you to send letters and cards to them while they are at camp. Please send them the week prior to your campers arrival to ensure delivery.
