WHAT IS AIM?

Ambassadors In Mission (AIM) is the short-term youth missions program of the Assemblies of God. AIM trips can either be stateside or international. AIM started in 1966 and now nearly 10,000 students participate on these trips each year. AIM is a coordinated effort between students, leaders, missionaries and host churches. With Assemblies of God missions in over 250 countries, the opportunities are endless!

WHY SHOULD YOU GO ON AN AIM TRIP?

Our hope is that every KYM student will go on a missions trip before they graduate high school! Though these trips are short, they will impact us for a lifetime. From the perspective of a former youth pastor, here is what I saw short-term missions do for my students (and for me):

1. Giving up a week to go serve in a new city or country gives you new perspectives on people, life, and who God created you to be. These trips will EXPAND your worldview and your heart to LOVE others as Jesus does.

2. You will realize that you are capable of doing difficult things. You CAN pray with a stranger on the street corner, you CAN lead worship or preach without practicing or preparing for hours, you CAN jump in and serve wherever without fear because you know God is with you and it’s fun to serve him.

3. When we put ourselves in places that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable, God will also speak things to us that we wouldn’t be able to hear at home. He’ll stir your heart, he’ll call you to go deeper, he’ll make sure you don’t leave the same. These trips are never just “trips.” They are moments where God SHIFTS our hearts, minds, and lives to look a little more like HIM.

Trust me, the possibilities of what God can do in your life during these trips are truly endless! Join us this year and see what God could do in and through you as you give up a week to serve him and the people of Navajo Nation in Arizona.

2023 CHICAGO AIM TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

STUDENT TESTIMONIES

“Going on a missions trip is so amazing because you get to experience God in new ways and make amazing friendships.” - Emily Young

“The trip made me realize that there are different problems outside my hometown. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me that spreading the Gospel might mean doing things that make me uncomfortable.” - Ross Norvell

“I felt like God was telling me I needed to go to Chicago, so I prayed…and I was given a very generous amount of money that I wasn’t expecting. That was just the first time God showed up for me on the journey of this missions trip. Time and time again I was blown away by how God moved in my heart! God softened my heart in Chicago. He reminded me what generosity can look like. I am now able to say without a doubt that when I pray, God moves.” - Maren Stewart
