LIGHT US UP AGAIN

“Spirit of the Living God, call us out of comfort into Your mission…”

Comfort is subtle. It wraps itself around our routines, our preferences, our carefully managed schedules. We can love Jesus deeply and still settle into safe, predictable faith. Yet the Spirit does not merely comfort—He commissions. Throughout Scripture, when God’s Spirit moved, ordinary women stepped into extraordinary obedience. In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses.” Power was never meant to sit still.

“Shake us awake where we have grown numb.”
It’s easy to scroll past needs, rush past people, or silence conviction with busyness. Numbness doesn’t happen all at once; it grows in small compromises. But the Spirit lovingly awakens us—nudging our hearts when a friend is struggling, when a stranger needs kindness, when truth needs gentle courage.

“Light us up again with Your grace and Your fire.”
We cannot manufacture holy fire. It is sparked by grace—by remembering what Christ has done for us. When we live rooted in gratitude, joy returns. Compassion deepens. Boldness rises.

“Give us eyes to see the one person today who needs Jesus.”
Not everyone. Just one. My coworker who is weary. The child who needs patience. The neighbor who feels unseen. Mission is not always across the ocean; often it is across the table.

Call to action: Ask the Spirit to highlight one person. Reach out - through a conversation, a prayer, an encouraging message. Be bold. Be kind. Be ready.

Reflection question: Where have I grown spiritually comfortable - and what step is the Spirit inviting me to take so my life blazes more clearly with His glory?
