ARISE AND SHINE
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
These beautiful words from Isaiah 60:1 are not just poetic - they are personal. They are an invitation.
As women, we carry many roles. We nurture, lead, support, build, and serve. Yet while we are busy meeting everyone else’s needs, we can forget that we are called to rise too.
To arise means to stand up, to awaken, to step forward with intention. It implies movement. There may be seasons when you feel overlooked, weary, or uncertain. But God’s call is not dependent on your emotions; it is anchored in His promise. He calls you to rise from comparison, from self-doubt, from fear—and to stand confidently in who He created you to be.
To shine means to reflect His light. You do not have to manufacture brilliance. The light within you comes from Him. When you choose patience over irritation, courage over comfort, truth over silence, you shine. Your quiet faithfulness in daily routines, your whispered prayers over your children, your integrity in the workplace—these are radiant acts. The world does not need you to imitate someone else; it needs the unique light God placed within you.
Rising is an act of faith. Shining is an act of obedience. You are not hidden. You are not forgotten. You are called.
Call to Action: Today, take one intentional step to “arise.” Have the hard conversation. Start the project you’ve delayed. Pray boldly instead of quietly worrying. Step forward in the area where you’ve been shrinking back.
Reflection Question: What is one area of my life where God is inviting me to rise in courage and shine more boldly in His light?
